A brake pad sensor monitors the condition of your brake pads. There are two main types: electrical and mechanical. An electrical sensor works with the aid of a wire loop inside a rubber casing. When the pad becomes worn or frayed, this breaks the wire loop and alerts the car’s electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU then prompts a warning light to appear on your dashboard. A mechanical sensor is a piece of metal that clips to the brake pad. When the brake pad wears down, the metal sensor comes into contact with the disc. This creates a circuit and causes a loud squealing sound. Whatever type of sensor you’re looking for, you can be sure to find what you need at Car Parts 4 Less. We offer low prices on all car parts in the UK market.
