Distributor Caps

The distributor cap transfers electricity from your ignition to the engine cylinders. For an engine that is noise-free and easy to start, always replace a worn distributor cap. Find cut-priced examples at Car Parts 4 Less.

Inside the distributor cap is a rotor. When you turn your ignition key, the rotor spins and creates a high-voltage pulse. This travels to the engine cylinder, ignites the air-fuel mixture and starts your engine. As distributor caps transfer a constant supply of electricity, they do suffer wear and tear with age. This often takes the form of corrosion on its metal terminals. Signs of a faulty distributor cap include a misfiring engine and vibrations that seem to shake your whole car. High-pitched squealing noises also suggest your distributor cap may need replacing. Distributor caps are different from one car manufacturer to the next. They vary in terms of their size, location, and mounting style. Some also have more cylinders than others. Car Parts 4 Less makes it easy to find the right distributor cap at a low price.
