Fizzy batteries
Cleaning your car doesn’t just mean cleaning the bits you can see, and sometimes, it pays to have a good old scrub under the hood. One area in particular that requires plenty of attention is your car’s battery terminals.
To remove any unwanted dirt, grime or corrosion from your car’s power source, simply pour a tin of Cola over each terminal. You’ll be amazed at how quickly the bubbles power through the filth!
Scrub-up well
Be it your dashboard, alloys or headlights, every now and again you’ll find a spot on your motor that requires a certain tool to get it looking brighter and shinier than ever.
When this happens, head to your local convenience store and pick up a packet of toothbrushes. Not only do these handy tools cost much less than other, specialist options, they’re also easy to clean– so you can use them over and over again!
Keep it fresh
Ever noticed how you just can’t shift the smell of stale cigarettes, animals or general fustiness, no matter how much time you spend cleaning your motor? Well, now you can put an end to your car’s fusty interior – simply by replacing the cabin air filter!
Not only are cabin filters cheap to buy, they’re also super easy to install, which is handy if you’re the type of owner who hates receiving costly bills from the local garage. Another great tip to help improve in-car smell is to spray air freshener onto the cabin air filter, making the fresh flowing air even fresher!
Winding down
Although it’s a sensible move to clean your car’s bodywork with the windows up, when it comes to cleaning the windows themselves, you might want to consider winding them down a little.
By doing this, you’ll be able to remove any moisture that’s gathered at the top of window, which in turn helps to guard against streaks and unsightly watermarks.
Peg it out
With your car’s battery, windows and bodywork shining bright like a Datsun, now’s the time to make sure you’re reminded of your hard work every time you climb into the cabin.
To do this, you could buy an air freshener – then again, you could save some money and make one yourself! To do this, simple apply some fragrance onto a peg and clip it to your vents. You’ll be amazed at how refreshing it is to smell a lovely scent every time you pop the heater on!
